Mikaela Bender, Auther of Expiration Series.

Mikaela Bender, Author of Expiration Series and Many More.

What is your name?

Mikaela Bender

When did you started writing?

I really started writing when I was fourteen and skipped the last hour of my Spanish Class at church. I had some left over notes paper, and I just started writing.

Which is your best book\which book is most dear to you?

Expiration Date, I think. I've put a lot of work into it, and the
characters all mean a lot to me.

Which book would you want to see published?

Definitely, Expiration Date.

Talk about a scene from any of your books that you really like?

I really like the ballroom scene in Expiration Date. I listened to certain songs for each of the dances, I felt like I was there.

How you get idea for your books?

Songs. Other books, Tv shows. I'll see a glimpse of something I like. and then I start spinning it into a story.

How do you feel that you have so many readers?

It blows my mind and i love it, but there's a lot of pressure that comes from it. I haven't updated in awhile because I feel like the chapters have to be really good. I can't just write down a quick chapter on my phone and then post it anymore. I miss that. But I wouldn't trade my readers! They're so supportive and their comments are entertaining.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned from writing books?

How much of themselves writers put into their books.

What is the best piece of advice you've received?

Reading is subjective. What one person might hate with a burning passion, another person might love.

What accomplishment you are most proud of?

Once Upon Now! It was incredible to see my book on shelves in stores.

Which place you want to visit?

Italy. I took Italian and fell in with the culture. Now I want to experience it.

What is the most courageous thing you have ever done?

Uber in Toronto without cell service. Pretty lame, I know.

Would you rather not brush your hair or your teeth?

I'd rather not brush my hair.

Would you rather sleep wearing handcuffs or a bike helmet?

I already have neck proble, so the helmet probably won't help. I've got to go with handcuffs.

Do you have a pet, If yes? If you could ask your pet 3 questions, what would they be?

I have two dogs and a cat. I'd ask them what they think their name is; If they like us and why they don't get along.

Thanks for interviewing me!

Interview with @Arveliot, Author of "A Tale of the Everburing City" series.

Interview with @Arveliot, Author of "A Tale of the Everburing City" series.

What is your name?

Gordon A K Pyper

When did you started writing?

I started writing back in, oh probably about 2014. At least that’s the first time I took making a story seriously enough to actually plot it out from beginning to end.

Which is your best book\which book is most dear to you?

The Dragon Chase. It’s the story that brought the Everburning City out of my imagination and into some kind of form

Which book would you like to see published?

All of them, obviously. But if I had to pick, I’d choose the next one I’m going to start soon.

Talk about a scene from any your books that you really like?

My personal favorite scene? Chapter 8 in the Dragon Chase. Singularly the most fun I’ve had in imagining a scene, and perhaps the single most important moment in that world’s history. It’s a scene where the airships take off for the first time, marking the moment when the Gloam besieging the Everburning City is no longer the unconquerable barrier it used to be. Their world changes in that moment.

How you get idea for your books?

I have no real process for it. Mostly, it’s gathering a bunch of random cool ideas, throwing them all together, and seeing if anything sticks. After that, start writing, and a third of the way into the story, start world building to justify what happened. It works. Mostly. Kinda.

How often you work on your writing? Like everyday for sometime or someday in week?

When i can. Usually two or three times a week. Real life tends to stuff my day rather full.

What are your hobbies?

Writing

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

Mostly that I have the attention span to do it. I’ve never been very good at focusing on a task, and my marriage (and my kids) is the only other thing in my life that I’ve ever really committed to.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve received?

That most advice is really unhelpful. Some of it helps, some of it reminds you of things that you already know, and most of it is hot air.

What accomplishment you are most proud of?

On Wattpad? Bitter Cold Truth. And the reason is because of how good my world is at building rich stories that I can use in this single, massive setting.

Which book took most time to complete?

Still the dragon Chase, mostly because it's a second edit.

Which place you want to visit?

Real place? Mars. Imaginary place? The restaurant at the end of the universe.

How do you describe yourself?

Poorly. Yeah, not really an answer. But i am also reclusive and want to keep an air in mystery, so that's all you're getting.

What is the most courageous thing you have ever done?

Held my kid for the first time. The metaphor for how easily you can muck up parenting is summarized pretty thoroughly by holding seven pounds of newborn life in your hands.

Would you rather not brush your hair or your teeth?

I only irregularly brush my hair. Pretty sure not brushing my teeth would be worlds worse for my health

Would you rather sleep wearing handcuffs or a bike helmet?

Bike helmet. With a pillow, a bike helmet wouldn’t even be that weird

Do you have a pet, if yes? If you could ask your pet 3 questions, what would they be?

I do not have a pet, I’m afraid.

How do you feel that you have so many readers?

Compared to some. It’s hard to say, since I owe pretty much all of my success on Wattpad to Wattpad itself promoting my story last year, and then offering me the opportunity to work with Wattpad Next.

Advice for new writers?

Read and write. A lot. The way lies in training.

Crystal scherer, Author of "A Different Virus Heartfire”

Crystal scherer, Author of "A Different Virus Heartfire” And Many More

What is your name?
Same as my user name, Crystal Scherer
How old are you?
30
What makes you happy and sad?
Happy: Nature, reading, writing, and family (most of the time... lol)
Sad: people fighting or refusing to even attempt to see things from someone else's pov (if you saw some of the nasty comments left on the 'Important Note' chapter in Heartfire, you would see the dark side of Wattpad readers).
What is your greatest fear?
Hmm… Possibly being badly embarrassed/humiliated in public.
what is your favourite quote?
Favourite quote: (I'm from a Christian background and have always loved this one)
"His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the raging flood;
When every earthly prop gives way,
This still is all my strength and stay."

How do you describe yourself?
Quiet, Friendly.
What is your life's biggest achievement you want to achieve?
I like to go with the flow, that being said, the only things that I would put on a 'bucket list' is to have at least most of my books available in print.
What is most awkward moment in your life?
Can't really remember a specific time, although I'm sure that there are more than a handful of embarrassing moments.
What is the best moment in your life?
Hard to pick, Once again, there are quite a few.
How long have you started writing??
I started writing in April of 2016, although I didn't post anything until August of that year.
What made you inspire to write?
The first time, I just wanted to try putting a daydream on paper. It morphed far beyond the short story I had originally planned as it became the 495K+ word story know as A Different Virus Heartfire
From where do you get ideas to write the amazing books you wrote?
Good question. Most of the time, I have no idea. I usually take one piece that fascinates me, such as someone becoming a trader in a zombie-infested world, and I build the story upon that idea.
According to you, which book is your best creation so far?
“A Different Virus Heartfire”, It was my first book and still remains the closest to my heart.
Have you ever faced writer's block?
Several times, yes. Most were small ones that were solved by rereading the last handful of chapters before going for a long walk. One or two took me several days to get past
In your book, "The Virus Within" the idea of different rank of zombies Regular, Runners, Nightstalkers and Terrors, was this your original idea?
if yes, how you came up with that?
Yes. I had recently written a werewolf book, and wanted to incorporate a ranking hierarchy system into the zombie world
In future, do you see yourself as full time writer?
Very doubtful. Most people only manage writing as a side hobby, or at best, as a part time job. To make money while writing, things like commercial covers and other expensive details are needed and add up quickly.
How often you work on your writing now? Like every day for sometime or some days in week?
I usually spend at least an hour a day writing, editing, or looking through my Wattpad comments. It may drop in summer due to the outside work, although I get a lot more time in winter when the snow and cold makes the outside world less appealing.
Which book took most time to complete?
A Different Virus Heartfire. It took the most time to write it, and I have spent more time editing it than all the rest of my books put together (possibly because it was my first book, and thus, I was learning a lot of grammar and dialogue rules as I went)
What official profile interests you most? Fantasy, horror, action etc?
For genre? I tend to write in sci-fi the most, although I also enjoy a decent werewolf or fantasy book as well
Now, that you have millions of readers and your book "A Different Virus Heartfire" is selected for Wattpad's beta program, how do you feel?
I honestly never that more than a few people would ever read it, or even like it, so to have hundreds coming back to re-read it...
It can't be put into words.
It's exciting to think that this book might go somewhere beyond a site loaded with billions of free stories.
what are your other favourite books to read?
My favourite published author is Mercedes Lackey, particularly her Valdemar series.

I am sure many of your fans(including me), we would like A Different Virus Heartfire published and have a hard copy for ourselves :)
Now that is something I would also love to have. Getting A Different Virus Heartfire in print is one of the things on my list to do within the next couple of years.
How do you update your books on wattpad, do you first write your whole book and upload or just write a chapter and upload?
I tried posting as I went once, and after that experience, I will never do it again. I  edit too much. lol. Now, I write the story and polish it up as much as possible before I start posting. And once I start, I post an update every weekday – which most of my readers seem to love. For the newer readers, I find it hilarious that they begin to detest Saturdays and love Monday. I have confused more than a few parents who overheard their kids muttering....  :)
What do you wanna say to all of your readers?
Hmmm... "Have a great day!" or "Happy reading!" (I am really not much of a public speaker, lol....)
What advice do you give to beginners ?
Beginners as in writers? Don't give up. Even the mighty oak started off as a tiny nut - and even then, it took 3 years to get knee-high.
My first posting of my Heartfire was horrendously edited. I've had to go through it at least a dozen times and have some friends and volunteers from the Wattpad reading community also go through it.
You will always keep learning, so never get discouraged.
